Description

Theory of instruction, methods, and materials in the secondary subject-matter fields in which students expect to teach; observations of classroom procedures; and participation in a field placement in which students plan, teach, and assess student performance. Emphasis is on the application of effective instructional theory and practice for diverse student populations. Students develop unit plans within their disciplines that demonstrate their competence in lesson planning, while employing a variety of teaching and assessment strategies. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 1 hour. Offered Fall only. Prerequisites: EDU 2000 and EDU 3120 and admission to the Teacher Education Program.
